I have been developing this game in my mind for the past 15+ years. Working as an engineer in the oil and chemical industry, I always found it fascinating how a worthless, smelly, sticky and black tar-like material could be converted into such an useful energy and raw material source for so many products. Combining this fascination with my love of boardgames was the driving force for developing REFINED. Finally, in the Fall 2024, I was able to find the game mechanisms to take this fascination and make it into a game. Put on your hard hats and start refining! I hope you love your time with REFINED!
